July 2nd 2009 6S information

What is the Definition of 6S?
Sort - All unneeded tools, parts and supplies are removed for the area
Straighten - A place for everything and everything is in its place
Shine - The area is cleaned as the work is performed
Standardize - Cleaning and identification methods are consistently applied
Sustain - 5S is a habit and is continually improved
and
Safety - a safe work place saves live and Money!
We offer a free 6S Power Point Guide to help with implementing 5S into any workplace.
Which is most important? Is it Sustain or Standardize or maybe Sort.
Most companies think that their 5S programs are failing with Sustain. But they probably failed at the Standardize, not Sustain. If during Standardize you do not follow and enforce the rules that the team created there is no way you can have an effective 5S program.
This free 6s power point is easy to use and follow.
Below is the best video or DVD we have found that helps everyone understand 6 S and how to truly implement 6S and to Standardize there office or facility.

June 7th 2009 How can Durastripe help in any facility

Durastripe is the ultimate in floor marking and is changing facilities like NASA, Smuckers and many other facilities. This time saving maintenance resource saves thousands of man hours over years of time saving thousands. Get free samples and find out more today.

1) How clean does the floor need to be prior to applying the DuraStripe?
A clean floor surface is crucial as you do not want to apply the DuraStripe onto old paint or tape residue. For maximum durability and a proper application, the DuraStripe needs to be stuck to the floor directly. Trapped dirt or old residue only creates a larger possibility of a failed application, which is what you are trying to avoid in the first place.

2) How long will the DuraStripe maintain its color?
The color is embedded into the material, therefore there is not fading nor scraping of the color from the surface of the mat. When the surface of the DuraStripe gets dirty, it can easily be cleaned with soap and water. For harder skid marks, a little bit of acetone will do the job. The color will be just as crisp and clear as when initially applied.

3) What do you recommend we clean the floor with prior to applying the DuraStripe?
It is very important to use low-chlorine based or chlorine-free cleaners. Reason: chlorine tends to leave a haze on the floor which can prevent the adhesive from sticking properly to the floor. One such recommended product is ‘Simple Green’.

4) Are the rolls of DuraStripe available in custom colors?
Although it is difficult for us to created precisely the color requested, we can create them to the closest resemblance possible. However, there is a minimum quantity requirement of 170 rolls, and an initial custom color set up fee.
